Ranbir follows Salman-Akshay

Ranbir Kapoor in Chillar Party

Like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar who are known for sitting on the edit of their films, even Ranbir sits on edit of his item song.

Ranbir Kapoor is a bundle of nerves these days! The sexy bachelor who is all geared up for his item number in the upcoming film Chillar Party , is getting pre-release jitters and is getting deeply involved with the edit sessions to leave no stone unturned to perfect the final cut.

This is for the first time that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen doing an item number. It is heard that although Ranbir is very happy with the final dance number choreographed by Bosco Caesar, he wants to sit and watch the song once again, this time under full scrutiny, and make sure that every little move is impeccable and fun to watch. "Ranbir is taking all this pain to make sure that his first item number doesn't meet any glitches and wins him the audience's applauds", says a unit-hand from the film.

Interestingly, Ranbir will be seen shaking a leg or two as a 'Tapori' in the song, where he will be seen dancing for the kids. In fact Ranbir is dedicating this dance number of Chillar Party to father Rishi Kapoor's character in Amar Akbar Anthony and although the genre of this song is completely different with kids involved as well, Ranbir doesn't want his first item song to be included in the league of the current sensation created by Deepika and Katrina but instead in the league of the yesteryears legends, Jeetendra and Mithun.

Salman's jungle film in 3D

Salman Khan

Imagine Salman Khan's too-hot-to-handle abs. And now imagine it in 3D. Beating the other Khans, Salman has now decided to go three dimensional in his next film Sher Khan.

"First of all I am not playing Tarzan in the film and it has got nothing to do with the character at all. It is an adventure film based in a jungle," clarified Salman Khan about his next endeavour with his brother Sohail.

While he dismisses any link to the famous man of the jungle in Sher Khan, the brothers are reportedly toying with the idea of making the film in 3D.

Our source told us, "It is Sohail's idea to make it in 3D. However, Salman bhai is still in two minds about this. Shooting in 3D is very difficult and going by the standards of special effects expected these days, the Khan brothers want everything to be sorted before they take the final call.

However, Sohail is quite confident given his technical finesse. He is known to be very hands-on, as far as his films are concerned. Plus the film is a jungle adventure and so it will be fun watching the film, if it is in 3D."

When asked about his scepticism to make the film in 3D, Salman explained, "As far as 3D goes, I am not sure. We are definitely thinking about it. However, 3D films have not worked in India and I am not too sure about its market."

When contacted, Sohail said, "I am still working on the script and only after the script develops, we will decide if it has 3D scope or not."

The historical fascination with 3D in India dates back to the release of James Cameron's action- adventure sci-fi, Avatar, in 2009. The stereoscopic film was a breakthrough in cinematic technique and so ever since then, Bollywood filmmakers have been eager to follow suit.

While most of the 3D projects have fallen through, two have managed to go as planned. Vikram Bhatt's Haunted, which released on April 15, is India's first next generation stereoscopic 3D film. And Shirish Kunder's Joker is the next 3D film to be released.
Considering the professional roll that Sallu has been on, we wonder if Sohail will let his brother take the final call.

Zarine, Sonakshi's cat fight!

Zarine Khan, Sonakshi Sinha
Last week after the music launch of Ready, Salman Khan decided to hold an impromptu bash at his house.

Leading lady Asin, as well as Zarine Khan who has done an item song in the film, got the invitation at the venue itself. Others received calls from Salman to join in the celebrations. Sonakshi Sinha joined the revellers at the Dabangg actor's pad later that night.

It has been reported that Sonakshi is super possessive about the actor and doesn't like other actresses cosying upto him. But this time she made a show of her anger. An eye-witness reveals, "She pushed Zarine, while walking past her, and then pretended that she hadn't even realised it!" It is known that Salman has a soft spot for both Sonakshi as well as Zarine and has been recommending their names to filmmakers. He is partial to them because they debuted with him — Zarine in Veer and Sona in Dabangg.

The insider continues, "It was such a sight. We thought a catfight would break out. We didn't know where to look and whether to laugh. When Sona first walked in, she walked past Zarine, without greeting her. Later when she saw that ZK was bonding with Salman and he was introducing her to all her friends, the Dabangg girl couldn't hide her irritation. Also the fact that Sallu got his buddy Sajid Nadiadwala to cast Zarine in Housefull 2 was still bothering her. Never mind the fact that he was instrumental in getting her a role in Shirish Kunder's Joker. Sonakshi sees Zarine as a rival for Salman's affections and young and spunky that she is, the Shotgun Junior (as she calls herself) decided to literally push her out of her way.

Interestingly, Salman was busy with his other friends and did not see her push the Veer girl. When Zarine reacted, Sonakshi told her it was "an accident. Not done intentionally". We want to believe Sonakshi, but we remember her cold vibes with Sallu's ex Katrina Kaif. Now Zarine is at the receiving end. While Zarine remained unavailable for comment, Sonakshi
denied the incident.

Salman Khan editing Ready

The fight on the sets of Ready in Bangkok, which drove the director Anees Bazmee back home, was just a start. Looks like Salman Khan, the lead actor of the film is quite jittery after the fate of the filmmakers last two films at the box office.

Leaving nothing to chance, Salman Khan is personally overlooking the final edit of the film. Needless to say, after two consecutive superhits, Wanted and Dabangg, the actor wants nothing to go wrong with his career.

Reportedly, the big boss is having the film edited at his own post- production facility Sight and Sound to keep a vigilant eye on the process.

A source explained, "While he is busy with his shoots for Bodyguard, he has his trusted people checking on the progress. As soon as he gets done with the shoots, he heads to the facility himself, where he personally oversees the edits."

When contacted, Bazmee did not dismiss Khan's involvement with the post production work but however, underplayed the actor's efforts. He said, "He is excited about the film and has been keeping a close watch. But he does not sit for the edits.

He is shooting for Bodyguard, from morning to night, and does not have the time to sit for edits. However, since he asked, I sent him a portion of the cut, which he returned with his suggestions." When questioned if Ready is being edited at Sight and Sound, he denied, saying, "We are editing at a facility owned by T series and not at Salman bhai's production facility."

Khan previously edited his film Dabangg.

Salman Khan loves Ranbir Kapoor

Salman Khan

During an exclusive tete-a-tete with zoOm about the new breed of actors in the industry, Salman Khan candidly said, "From the younger lot,

I think both Ranbir and Imran are superb. They're super talented and they're here to stay". When we probed further he said, "I think after Aamir, SRK and me, they are the next superstars.

My character isn't dheela: Salman

The song Character Dheela from Salman Khan's forthcoming film Ready is already making waves.

However, the chartbuster doesn't flatter our hunk. At the recently held Ready music launch, when asked if he can relate himself with the Character Dheela song, Salman replied, "Ask Asin. She has the first hand experience."

Asin was caught unguarded and couldn't think of anything to say. The lady, who is romantically paired opposite Salman in the film, flaunted a big smile and returned the mike to Salman.

The Khan finally said, "No, I can't relate to the song. My character isn't dheela and I am a very shareef insaan."

Looking at the history and number of Salman's love relationships, one might think that the song is penned on him. But it seems Sallu wants to set the record straight and make it clear that Character Dheela isn't his story.

It can be recalled that during the release of Jaane Tu.... Ya Jaane Na rumours were abuzz that the song Pappu Can't Dance is based on Salman. However, Aamir Khan later stepped in and cleared the controversy.

No SRK, Karan wants Salman!

The last time Salman Khan worked on a Dharma Productions' film was in the college love saga Kuch Kuch Hota Hai way back in 1998.

After thirteen years, a bad fight with Dharma loyalist Shah Rukh and a couple of comeback hits Wanted and Dabangg, the original bad boy of Bollywood seems to have got a second chance with Karan Johar's production house.

The ice probably broke when KJo asked Salman to be a part of his talk show. The actor agreed to do so for a price, they had to make a donation to his foundation. Though the filmmaker denied paying up for a celebrity on his show back then, he approached the Khan for the next Dharma venture to be directed by Rensil D'Silva.

Considering KJo's association with his favourite Shah Rukh and Salman's disassociation with the King Khan, this piece of news should have been surprising. However, with the filmmaker stretching his professional interests beyond his favourite Khan with Varun Dhawan starring in his next directorial venture Student Of The Year, the filmmaker approaching the other Khan becomes understandable.

According to a source, "After Kurbaan, Rensil is directing a fantasy-action caper on the lines of Ocean's Eleven. When Karan Johar heard the script, he absolutely fell in love with it. Both Karan and Rensil felt Salman was perfect for the main part."

However, even after repeated attempts, Rensil D'Silva remained unavailable for comment.

Salman dances to Kareena's tunes

Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan

The much talked about item number in Salman Khan's forthcoming film Ready did remind us of Awara, Sholay and Muhgla-E-Azam.

Funnily enough, it reminded us of the 2001 film Ajnabee starring Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol.

Yes, and it had nothing to do with the picturisation of the song.

The Pritam Chakraborty directed tune of the song was more than a tad bit inspired by the song Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska from the 2001 thriller.

While Pritam is known to be inspired by various international songs, this time he has been listening to Anu Malik, the music director of Ajnabee.

The Ajnabee soundtrack was a hit with songs like Mehbooba and Kaun Main. Will Ready be as good?

Not any drink for Salman!

If you wondered how Salman Khan maintains his physique at the age of 45, here's how.

A source close to the actor revealed how Salman has started to follow a complete no-sugar diet. The actor not only avoids sugar in food but also drinks and follows his diet religiously.

"If Salman Khan is expected at a party, the hosts better have sugar free soft/energy drinks as Salman does not intend to gain any excess weight. He needs to maintain his physique especially because all his forthcoming films are action films. At one of the recently held actresses' bash, the venue organizers even called up the energy drink brand to order for a special crate of sugar free energy drinks for Salman" revealed our source close to the actor.

With Shah Rukh gaining eight packs for Don2, Aamir getting fitter for Reema Kagti's film, John losing weight for Dostana2, seems like the original macho hero of Bollywood too doesn't want to take his chiselled body for granted.

Salman to steal Ranbir's girl?

Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan have history. The RK boy began dating Khan's girl Katrina Kaif two years ago.

The romance began on the sets of their film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (and continued during Raajneeti). Will history repeat itself? It is learnt that Salman now wants to romance RK's girl Nargis Fakhri.

Towards the end of the year, Salman Khan will get into the super-hero garb for his younger brother Sohail Khan's film titled Sher Khan (and not Tarzan) as reported. Sohail has worked on the script of this film for a long time and it is wildly exciting, say sources. Even as the girls — Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and others start lining up for the role of Sher Khan's leading lady, trade sources indicate that Salman may team up with the Rockstar girl Nargis Fakhri. Says our source, "Sohail either wants a fresh face or he wants his brother to pair up with Nargis."' We hear the producers of Rockstar, who are also advising Nargis on her career, will be happy if she bags a film with Bhai.

Salman: The hottest item boy!

While item girls in Bollywood will never go out of fashion, it seems like Salman Khan will take the trophy when it comes to the hottest item boy in town.

The concept of item boy was initiated when Abhishek Bachchan did one in the film Rakht , years ago. After that everyone from Hrithik Roshan ( Krazzy 4 ), Shah Rukh Khan ( Heyy Babyy ) to Sanjay Dutt ( Ek Ajnabee ) did item numbers in some film or the other. But Salman Khan beats them hollow with his item number antics.

Salman who is presently seen in the item number from his upcoming film Ready is simply adorable in the Character Dheela number. While it would have been difficult for any other actor to pull of such an act, it seems a cakewalk for Sallu. Like his dance moves in Dabangg , even here his steps are just too hot and sexy. The lyrics and choreography of the song just add to his mass-appeal.

Undoubtedly, Salman is the hottest item boy in town!

Salman Khan will do anything for Zarine Khan

After Boom, which Katrina would love to 'beep' out from her resume, it was Salman Khan who stood by her side and held her hand while she climbed the ladder to stardom. Looks like, the Kat-look-alike Zarine is Mr Do-Gooder Khan's latest fancy.

Despite her debacle debut in Veer, Zarine is breathing free. Thanks to Salman, the actress not only has a role in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 2, but also has a full-length item song in Ready, for which she was initially signed on for a blink-and-I'm-gone appearance.

The much talked about Character Dheela song initially meant for Jacqueline Fernandes with a small step-in by Zarine was turned into the latter's number by the leading man himself. Salman gave out strict orders to the unit saying that it should only be Zarine rubbing shoulders with him.

Attributing Jacqueline's sudden disappearance from the song to 'date issues', a source from the film revealed, "Salman ne kaha ki Zarine ko lena hai.  And who can argue with Salman? So, Zarine it was."

The source also went on to add, "It is known that Salman has a soft corner for Zarine. Add this to his helpful nature and you get the complete picture. In other words, Salman ne kisike sar pe haath rakh diya, toh woh uske liye kuch bhi karega."

It maybe recalled that Salman had no inhibitions entering Aamir Khan's house with Zarine in tow.  At the party thrown for Academy Award-winning Argentinian music composer Gustavo Santaolalla, who was working on Kiran Rao's directorial debut Dhobi Ghat, he and Zarine had walked in together at 12.28 am (Mumbai Mirror, June 21, 2010).

When asked about the real reason of her not being in Ready, Jacqueline chose not to reply. Director of Ready, Anees Bazmee too remained unavailable for comment.

Salman-Asin kiss inspired by Ash

Salman Asin 450.jpg
Ready
The much-talked about Salman Khan-Asin kiss in 'Ready' is seemingly similar to the one in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'.

Salman Khan's kissing act in Ready seems to be creating waves. Firstly the actor will be seen kissing onscreen after ages. And now comes the news that the kissing scene is pretty much similar to what he did to Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam .

In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , Salman offers a peck on Ash's cheek while she is pretty much unaware. The same is the case in Ready when Salman plants a kiss on Asin's cheeks while she is oblivious of the act.

If the Salman-Ash chemistry is anything to go by, seems like the Salman-Asin chemistry will be as much sensational.

Salman started his acting carrier in 1988 by doing a supporting role in the movie "Biwi Ho To Aisi". Following with other box office hits he showed his terrific performance in Saajan (1991), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! He has not only managed to revive his career, but also to restore the confidence of his producers and distributors alike.

Personal Quotes
The only person I have hurt is myself.
For me acting, comes straight from the heart. In that sense I don't act at all. I think that to feel the character's pain I have to be myself. Somewhere audiences see that.
On his childhood problems and his father's second marriage to Helen: It was very difficult in the beginning, when everybody was talking about it. My mother just couldn't take it. It hurt her terribly. She used to worry all the time, go in to depression frequently. When she cried, we children used to cry with her.
In life go straight and turn right.
(From a TV-interview) I can get caught in many things but there is one thing I will never get caught in, and that is acting - because I don't act. On screen I am like I am in real life.
Why should I marry? One marries to have children, but I already have children! My nieces and nephews are my children. I wanted to marry to make babies, but now I have them, so marriage isn't that important, is it?
